Tapestry Step One

STEP ONE: Set Up

1. Create a page for the following Tapestry elements on your

blog:

A. Tapestry proposal

B. Works cited page

2. Select an abstract noun / theme for your project concept.

A. See the list of suggestions on the class blog:

"Tapestry Theme choices". More than one person can do

the same concept. Feel free to propose a concept or

theme  not on the list.

B. Once you have selected your theme concept, write the

concept at the top of your Tapestry Proposal Page.

3. Find two (2) quotations about your concept. Do not select

quotations by an anonymous source. The quotations should

show different perspectives on the concept. Be sure to

include the source of each quotation on your works cited

page in proper MLA format.

A. Write both quotations on your Tapestry Proposal

Page.

B. Write a short 50-70 word reflection for each quotation

that answers the following two questions: What does

each quotation mean? How do they reveal or explain two

sides of your theme concept?

C. Below each reflection, make a list of 3-5 possible texts

that might relate/reflect the ideas you began to describe

in your reflections for each quotation. (Think about what

we have read so far in class and what you might have

read last year and on your own; think about media texts

as well).

4. Based on the feedback given to you on this work, edit and

revise your responses and move on to STEP TWO.

This is due by the end of class on Wednesday, March 7,
